A single 60-gram bag of coffee

60g is the perfect amount.

Sixty grams divides perfectly into the most common brew sizes and 3–5 cups is enough to experience a coffee properly while also being small enough to try something outside the box.

Curated to experience the full spectrum of light roast.

Every month we go looking for coffees we are excited about. Every feature has a story behind it — a roaster we haven't tried before, an unusual variety, an innovative process, or tasting notes we want to experience.

We feature everything from clean, washed coffees to highly processed coferments. This subscription is our way to explore what's out there. We aim to strike a balance every month between cleaner and funkier coffees — and we also offer a 4-bag option if you prefer to stay closer to one side of the range.

“On paper this coffee is not for me — I tend to dislike heavy intervention coffees, and carbonic maceration specifically. That said, it's just such a wonderful coffee, and a great example of why I'm such a fan of Bean Archives.”

“I would have avoided this coffee like the plague if it weren't for this group — and it ended up a 10/10. Genuinely shocked at how much I'm loving it.”

Join the Brew Crew community.

Being part of The Bean Archives is an invitation to connect with a whole community of folks all brewing the same coffee.

The whole point of our subscription is variety, and we think that's what makes the community so fun: everyone has their own taste, and we celebrate the differences in experience and preferences.

After you sign up, we'll send an invite to our Discord to chat all things coffee, brew tips, hot takes on this month's funk, and much more.

I just canceled ALL my coffee subs except this one. Keep up the amazing work, we all appreciate you so much.

Dialed in, from the first brew.

We dial in every coffee through the same process and provide brew tips and a recipe. This way, you can quickly learn how we brew and how that translates to your setup and preferences. Whether you want to follow our recipe exactly or use our brew tips to dial in your own — you'll have what you need.

For our experienced brewers, the most helpful aspect is that all these brew tips have the same reference point, so they all translate equally to how you brew. 60g quickly feels like more when every cup turns out.

“The curation and the brew guides take the searching out of it. The dial-ins have been spot on — so nice to just open the box and get to tasting.”

One Add-On Drop a Month.

Every month, we have one drop of add-on options. Add-ons give you the option to go deeper with some of the international roasters we feature, and also give access to more premium offerings as well as decaf.

These coffees are curated just as carefully — we usually only sell 3–6 add-ons total — and they all come with the same brew guides as main features (even more important for expensive lots!).

“Some of these coffees you can't even get in the US, shipping's free, and I just trust your curation.”

“Trying coffees that are hard to source or exceedingly expensive to buy 100g+ of — an Esmeralda gesha, say.”

Matthias and Bryan, the founders of The Bean Archives

We almost didn't meet…

Bryan had just moved to Durham from Copenhagen — two weeks in. Matthias was one Zoom meeting away from skipping Regalia's East Coast tour at Yonder Coffee. Fate stepped in, the connection happened, and a bond over coffee formed fast.

What started as an Instagram archive of coffees we brewed and loved became a shared journey — one we wanted others to explore and discover with us.

That curiosity grew into The Bean Archives subscription. We were craving more variety than we could find — so we did what felt natural and started building it ourselves.

The Triangle Coffee Club helped validate and fuel the idea, with an eagerness to explore new flavors that often led to overflowing freezers, massive group orders, and an endless cycle of resealing smell-proof bags during repacks.
